Hi, my name is Luke!

And I’ve been obsessed with all things gardening for as long as I can remember. As kids my family spent uncountable hours, over three seasons of the year in my Grandfathers garden, “helping” him, I guess my love just grew from there. For the past decade, I’ve been working on perfecting the science of organic horticulture, something that is without a doubt a lifetime pursuit, but for me, working with nature is one of the most worthy pursuits. I’ve made it a priority to be a student of the game and soak up every piece of information I could find on the subject and luckily, had a few masterful teachers along the way who helped me out, just for the sake of doing so (growers are good people!).

My zeal for gardening has run parallel with my love for cooking and using beautiful ingredients, another joy I was lucky enough to inherit from my family. In fact, I’ve worked in professional kitchens since I was 13. I worked my way up from a prep cook to Executive Chef and this is where I first discovered microgreens. I remember my Chef at the time had just returned from a food show, and he was enamored by them. I had a deep respect for this man, so naturally I thought they were pretty rad as well.

That was twenty years ago and these little beauties are still going strong, and I realized one day that:

A. I had been growing microgreens for the past ten years; I just always let them grow to maturity and…
B. Mine were 37 times better than the ones we got in the restaurant! They always came in looking pretty but they were garbage after 3 days.

So, enter Gangsta Greens, the urban micro green grower based out of Bridgeport, CT, my hometown. We utilize 100% organic practices, non-GMO seeds from reputable companies, and the best darn soil we can find. We do it this way because it is the only way. Gangsta Greens is an honest business that looks to have honest relationships with our partners; you will pay for a service and we will do that service as well as it can be done.

Thank you!
